Well I'm back in A2 after taking a much needed two week break at home. It is so much fun to just work in lab and home home in the late afternoon without having to work on biostats homework or prepare for a test. So far work in the lab has been going really well. All of my experiments have finally started to come together and next week I actually start analysis on my project samples.
I've been enjoying the three day weekend quite a bit. On Saturday I went to see the new Indiana Jones movie. Going into this movie I wasn't expecting it to be as good as Raiders or Last Crusade, I was just hoping that it would be better than "The Phantom Menace". I enjoyed the movie, it's always fun to hear John Williams score playing while Harrison Ford swashbuckles ( I know that this isn't a word) his way across the screen. However as far as plot goes I kept expecting to see Fox Mulder and Dana Sculley show up (for those of you who don't know these are characters from the X-files). I almost thought that somehow the script for the upcoming X-files movie in July somehow got mixed up with the Indy Jones script and Spielberg decided to shoot it anyway. I've read that the plot wasn't as far out as George Lucas would have liked which means that he is kind of off his rocker, unless he wanted to tie the Indy Jones and Star Wars franchises together. Wouldn't it be funny if one of the cut scenes from the movie has Yoda popping up at the end and teaching Indy Jones how to use the force (Just kidding).
In other news I bought a new bike this week and went for a ride today. The sun was out, the weather was cool, and the mosquitoes took advantage. There is a gorgeous park with a lake and a bike path not too far away from my house where I was able to sit on a bench at marvel at Gods creation for a while. Not having strenuously exercised in a while it was probably a mistake for me to bike 10 miles. I kind of knew that I was going to be in some trouble when the entire ride to the park was downhill with no peddling because that means trouble on the way back. I did make it home although I can't really walk which probably bodes poorly for tomorrow (which I thankfully get off).
After Church this morning I went downtown to our "artsy" district and discovered a brand new tea store which carries the absolute best tea I have ever had in my life. Mom discovered this brand in Chicago and part of her duty when she went there was to stock up for us all. When I went into this store and saw that it was Gschwender tea I nearly started jumping up and down because it is so close to me! The gentleman behind the counter recommend their blackberry tea and said that it was incredible as iced tea which prompted me to buy a sample. After surviving my biking ordeal this afternoon I made 6 cups of tea and have promptly finished them all and I have to say that it is some of the best iced tea I've ever had.
